Our Yard owner only lets us use the large wooden poles that are available they have no colour at all, however he will let us use pole sleeves. I was just wondering if anyone knew anywhere to buy these or if anyone knows how to make them DIY, i know they won't last long but at the moment my horse spooks at coloured jumps overtime we go anywhere so i really need to be able to practice with coloured jumps.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance :)

I got some from Robinsons a few years ago, not sure if they still stock them though.

If you're handy with a sewing machine you could make some from strips of different coloured fabric joined together and then stitched along the long side to form a tube.

I've used plastic Dengie sacks with the bottom cut off and 2 poles threaded through to make a 'filler'. I haven't done 'sleeves' but I guess you could by wrapping the bag tightly round the pole and securing it with string or cable ties.
You can vary the look by turning the sacks inside out for plain shiny white, or leave as they are for coloured

you could use bandages wound round the poles as they have lots of different colours, we used, plastic bags, made our own fillers and painted them. I made some fillers from pallets, made sure they were safe with sturdy feet and stuffed them with bushy tree cuttings to make bullfinch type fences. I also used plastic containers filled with water ( so they dont blow away), its amazing what you can use safely for little money.
