took william to holt farm show today and was an angel to load and travel until we got there and he decided to launch himself over the partition into the tack compartment of the side loader. he was stuck half over. luckily someone managed to get him free as we couldnt lift him off. this is the 2nd time he has done this 1st time he tried to leap over the ramp.
can anyone reccommend anyone i can talk to or get out to help with this problem? i honestly dont know how he hasnt got broken legs!! and im too scared to travel him now.

Ouch! He sounds like a very lucky pony to have got away with that twice! :o

Can't suggest anyone for you, but *Bump!*

thankyou. i have spoken to john shears (he uses monty roberts techniques which th epony is used to) so im hoping he will be able to help us.

has anyone else experienced a pony doing this?

lol - I know someone who had an interesting similar experiance - *Martlin, where are you?* :D So you are not the only one!

Good luck! I hope John can help you out then, esp if the pony already gets along with those techniques :)

Trying to imagine where all the bits and pieces are in relation to each other. Is it possible to make a heavy duty net barrier of some sort?

Hope the MR's route helps.

Have a hug and a hot choccy.

thing is i dont have my own transport so i have to hire transport. he walks straight in and travels fine and is not at all scared its when he sees me he tries to get to me. not helpful whatsoever!!

LOL, I'm here:D
Unfortunately, the only option is travelling the beast in a horsebox that doesn't have a breast barrier or skirt lockers to climb or leap over.
All the behaviourists can easily help you with loading, but to make the horse stay there is a completely different matter...
I just sold the horse TBH, couldn't end up with another smashed lorry and God knows how many injuries to everybody involved:(
Now she is a broodmare/pet who will never have to travel again.

he is fine tied up to it. no problem whatsoever, if you tie him u outside he will happily try and stand back in it.

Well for the time being I would just tie him outside maybe? 10 months is very young anyway he might grow out of it? Is he traveling alone?
