Horse jumps into crowd during steeplechase

Well........... from memory ..............didnt one TB jump over a fence in the recent National and unfortunately land on another TB? that had fallen (that was probably dazed/shocked) causing catastrophic injuries to that horse? Equine karma crossed my mind.

In any case - what a stupid place for spectators to be placed! Perhaps the poor people will be able to claim some compo?? No race marshalls around or perhaps not enough.
 
Goodness that is quite unbelievable!

I can't say that if I had seen this in advance I would have guessed that this could happen. That was a massive, solid fence!
 
Bloody hell the crowd must have kacked their pants when they saw that coming over the fence... TB deffo in the wrong job tho lol
 
Wow , thats unbelievable especially when you look at the difference in the size of the jumps on the course and the fence it did jump , i'm totally surprised it didn't just run out?
 
Pft! Horses do it all the time over here and in Ireland! The Ausie's just need to Man up :D A horse did it in Ireland last year and the guy he jumped into received a broken arm for it - he just laughed it off and basically said "tihs happens". You gotta love the Irish :D

The horse that got jumped into at the National a few years ago was Tyne And Tyne Again. He had fallen at the first and had carried on jumping round riderless. He fell again at the 9th, got up but side on to the rest of the field and got jumped into. He broke his back and was put down as soon as he posssibly could have.
 
Poor horse and spectators!

It was only trying to keep on with the others - probably too panicked by the whole situation to think to keep to the SMALLER jumps.

Perhaps it could be 'retired' to SJ if it is OK...
