Friends of mine, fairly novice owners have three horses, two which they got this summer.
They are all kept out 24/7 with no access to stables, in a field which is split into 3 sections - each horse grazing individually.
There are two geldings and a mare. One of the geldings and the mare have bonded strongly. Now they are struggling to separate them. The gelding is being really nappy and hard to separate from the mare and the mare just jumps out and follows the gelding if he's taken away.
They have tried putting the other gelding in with the mare when taking the nappy gelding away - but that doesn't help she still jumps out.
I don't really know what to suggest or how to help them. Any ideas?
