Horse leaning 3.5 ton....going to fall over!

Has anyone had this problem before?

My horse travels very quietly in my 3.5 ton horsebox BUT he leans all his weight on the outside wall of the box. So when the road had a tilt or going around a right hand bend it feels like we are going to tip over - it's really quite terrifying. I'm thinking of taking the partition out and cross tying him to make him stand more central? (I only ever travel him due to payload so thought this could be an option?)

Is this coach built or conversion?
If coachbuilt, then please get the box checked over for integral strength and safety.
Have you double checked tyre pressures?
Do you cross tie anyway?
Leaning on the wall shouldnt make the box tip, what cab chassis is this?
 
Sorry can't help, but have just been experiencing the same thing with my loan horse. She seems to struggle to find her balance, and leans on the outside wall. It can be quite scarey to watch on the monitor as it looks like she's just going to slide down the wall.
I did wonder whether to try removing the partition and let her travel loose.
This is a 3.5t rear facing. I think she might prefer forward facing

Hi it's a conversion but when I bought it I got it checked over by a horsebox builder I know and trust and he said it was well built and totally fine build wise. I'm going to check tyre pressure tomorrow...thank you!
 
I have my partition well over on the driver's side and keep tack and a loo in the spare bit. I would try that, try taking it out altogether, and if neither of those work, put another partition in to keep him central.

My horse used to park his bum against the outer wall of my coach built 3.5 tonne when I first got it. I had it reinforced with a steel bar for peace of mind. Now he’s used to going in it he stands straighter in it.

Thank you! I might try this sound like a good idea.
 
Take the partition out. They seem to prefer travelling diagonally across the box and he may be able to balance better that way and therefore not lean on the side.
 
You might need to have the rear suspension looked at. I don't know that model but many of them have leaf springs and you can have another leaf fitted to beef up the rear suspension and make it less 'saggy'. If it's not leaf springs but coil springs you can have up-rated springs fitted.
 
My lad used to lean badly on the side of the box I’ve taken the partion out and he stands sideways now and balances with no problems at all
 
Mine didn't lean but used to stomp about in the back of the box constantly rearranging his feet to find his balance (various types - before I had my own). I now travel him cross tied without a partition and don't hear a peep out of him.

Ford chassis for me I'm afraid!
 
I would question the amount of room he has, I would make the space bigger and see if his better he may not be able to balance hence the leaning, although one of mine started leaning his bum on the back of the lorry out of the blue 1 month later he went lame with a suspensory injury, so it can be that something feels uncomfortable when travelling that just doesn't feel so bad in an everyday life situation so maybe keep an eye out for any slight lameness.
