Hello, I just wanted other opinions and any other experiences had.
thinking of buying a horse, a sports horse but more on the tb side that the native.
he lives out all summer and he is stabled at night time during the winter. If he comes with me he’ll have a lovely big shelter which I could put bedding in for him but he will be in the field. He won’t be stabled.
Anyone have experience? Of course he’ll have plenty food and cosy rugs! Just don’t want him to be upset!

Your thoughts appreciated ?

If he is used to living out all summer, he won't even notice that you haven't brought him in in winter, he will just continue his summer routine. Horses don't usually stand around in a field with grass available wishing they could go and spend hours on end in a small structure wondering where their next mouthful is coming from. They are more bothered about spending time with their companions who are in the same routine.

As long as he has a friend, hay and decent all year grazing I’m sure he’ll be fine. Always good to have a stable available in case of emergencies though.

Thanks everyone!
I have a stable for emergencies.
He will have a friend just a few meters away as he will be isolated for 3 weeks, then horses will go beside him to see if they can be friends before I put them together! The owner said he can get bullied a bit so thought it best! :)
