Hello all,

When you've loaned a horse out, how much contact would you want from the person loaning the horse? ie, informed of progress, shows, just general 'he's fine' update?

It wasn't agreed beforehand but she is still my horse and I'd like to know how things are going without feeling like I'm pestering.

Just wondered what others thought reasonable..

Yeah tough one this!!! I had a pony on loan for years and used to dread the owner phoning me she just used to say ' How is she?' problem was she used to phone every two weeks!!! and was very hard to talk to :(:( I think the best thing is to sort it out before hand. I have just agreed to loan my gelding and I have told the lady I will e mail/text her once a month to check everything is ok and she seemed happy with that?? When I have loaned horses before I have always kept the owner informed out of courtesy but that's just me :D I think once a month for a while is fine as soon as you are a bit happier then perhaps you could phone once every other month:)
