Hello! Quick questions about mileage costs.
We are asking an acquaintance to collect a horse (long story but a rescue case) in her lorry and she has very kindly agreed. We would like to pay her for her fuel and something for her time, but I have no idea how much these things cost. She drives a 3 horse lorry and the trip is around 150 miles (round trip). I know the details are a bit vague but can anyone please give me at least a rough idea of the sort of fuel cost involved in this? Transporting one horse of around 500kg.
Also, if you were her, what sort of money would you expect for your time? I guess will be around 4 hours and I don't know her that well, but did help ride one of her horses when she was away (though that did me a favour too). I don't suppose she really expects anything as she's kind but can't decide what is a fair amount to give her?
Thanks all.
