I am converting a 7.5t horse lorry and would be interested to know what length other people allow their horses from nose to tail. My previous lorry allowed 8"1 from nose to tail but that was built for a very big horse and I only have little ones now. It will be built herringbone but I just can't decide how much room to give them nose to tail.
I have measured a few and they seem to vary from just over 7" upwards. Once we decide, the bulkhead will be built at this length.
Any measurements / comments gratefully received.

Surely you're stuck with the width of the lorry?? unless you are building the body from scratch!! then I would make the horse area about 8ft wide and about 10 ft long if its narrow you can angle the bulkhead so the horses have more room , I would make it so it could carry bigger horses you might want to sell one day!!! hope that helps....
