Was woken up at 4 am by the sound of hooves going up our track, as it was light I assumed that it was later than it was so didn't pay any attention, however 10 mins later I heard a pony GALLOPING back down our track, it was at this point I thought either someone barmy has gone out for a ride at 4 am and fallen of, I'm imagining the noise or a pony is galloping around unaccompanied. Looked out of my window and a little piebald gelding, no tack, no head collar, no boots nothing is going barmy, he looked so lost, he was calling and calling. Went outside called the police who said they'd send someone out. I would have tried to catch him but I didn't have a head collar, However i did get close enough to see that he was shod. He was about 14.1hh. He galloped back down toward the main road. So if anyone lost a horse in the HERTFORDSHIRE area last night pm me. Poor little man, lets hope he found his way home
