My dogs have fleas and although I have ordered Frontline and am waiting for it to come I don't think it really works that well. I have 2 large rotties so have to buy the one for big dogs & a cat one which works out quite expensive, and although I do it every 6 weeks or so over the summer I'm sure it's not as effective as it could be.

My YO has told me to use Louse Powder which is only about £8 a tub and having read up on it it's suitable for goats, poultry etc as well as horses so it should be fine for the dogs and cat.

Has anyone tried this or more importantly does anyone know of any reason why I shouldn't try it?

Thank you

My dogs have been free of fleas all summer because I have swabbed them with a mix of Neem oil.
5 mls of neem 3 mls of liquid shampoo made up to 1 litre with hot water and I have doused them with that every other week.
The only ticks they had was when I never washed their heads and a couple had attached to faces.

Thank you Foxhunter, what sort of shampoo do you use?

My only concern with your method is that I will probably have trouble wetting the cat! Louse powder would be easier to do him with I guess but the dogs would be fine getting wet.
