just out of interest which do you read and why.i have always bought your horse and horse and rider every month for years, however have found your horse really becoming so basic and dumbing down dont see the point of getting it any more.after reading couple of posts mentioning horse mag bought it today and am impressed lots of interesting articles and more my cup of tea. am i the only one to have missed it.

i get horse and rider, your horse and horse magazine. sometimes i get HHO but i think it's more tailored to the competitor and I'm not there yet (thats the aim, but I can't see it even happening this year!!

) but i do get it whenever there is an interesting article on the cover.

I get what you mean about some horse magazines being basic, and have hundreds stashed at home so i should imagine i have the same article over over! But i really like the readers lessons and there are normally things in each magazine which i think 'ooh i'll keep that for future reference' hence why i keep hundreds of the ruddy things

Subscribed to H&H and that's it.

I mainly only read the news, letters and scientific reports, sometimes more things...flick through the classifieds and then add it to the ever growing pile of old copies!!

I used to enjoy Your Horse...but didn't that combine with a pony magazine? Once it started to tell people how to hang a haynet or pick out a hoof, I stopped reading it. Also used to read Horse & Rider...but it became a case of 'same old' with their articles.

I love Horse magazine. If I need another to read half way through the month I get Your Horse.

I also get horse mart occasionally (even if you're full you can still look at the menu!!)

I think I read them all but I find that most of them have articles where they say things like "ask the horse to work long and low" but then they don't explain how you do this which is no help for novices.

Love your Horse mag as it caters more for everyday riders but has plenty of technical stuff as well. Horse and Rider can be good. Horse seems more interested in ok type articles on professional riders which I personally find quite boreing!Sorry.

I get Free Rein (UK's American Horse Magazine) really good mix of interest and technical articles and some great competitions - covers broad spectrum of western and trail type stuff but also does cutting and barrel racing and endurance riding.........and Your Horse...............and H&R only if the article interests me.

Jude.

I used to Subscribe to YourHorse, Horse&Rider and Horse, but had to cut back on something. As they were all so 'samey' I cancelled them all.

I spend a flipping fortune each month on magazines - it's a while since I really looked at the prices, but they seem to have been sneaking the prices up!

I subscribe to H&H and Eventing, buy Horse, Horse & Rider, Your Horse and a local mag called Scottish & Northern Equestrian!

Agree the monthly ones are quite samey but I would feel I was missing out on something if I didn't - a bit like buying a lottery ticket each week, it's just something I've got to do!!

I subscribe to H & H and Eventing. I've also just subscribed to Horse, using my Nectar points :-)

I also normally buy Your Horse and Horse and Rider - I try not to, but like irishdraught and ExRacers, I'm always convinced I'll have missed something good unless I get them! I also subcribe to various non-horsey mags, and was actually thinking this evening that I've got too many to read, and no time too read them - felt slightly stressed by this, how ridiculous!!! Must get a grip...
