Chico is doing really well to get over his horsebox fear and I am now able to load him, shut the partition and shut the ramp, doors etc.

I am planning his first trip this afternoon but....

He has got into a habit of pooping atleast twice just after he has loaded. And as a result he has a big pile of poop by his back legs and i am concerned it is slippy and dont want him to fall during journeys.

Any tips?

Will straw help or make it worse?

My lad is very messy in the box due to excitement/ anxiousness so we put shavings down. I think straw would probably make it more slippery but the shavings are fab. :)

if your worried pop some shaving down the back. all ours poo as soon as they are loaded but there legs usually straddle over it anyway while traveling

i take a put bucket and portable shovel which lives in box so when i get to show i put it in so on way back horse not stepping in it
