Horse Mane Rubbing

Hi,

I am planning on clipping this weekend which means the full necks are coming out their bags, last year these really rubbed his mane out, does anyone know a good product that will stop this as I have only just it back to a good length and I would like to plait him for some dressage over the winter.

The best way to keep a full mane is to not use neck covers or combos IME. However Bossy's Bibs have started to do a mane guard. I haven't got a mane guard, but their bibs are brilliant.

I tried all sorts for mane that rubs off with necks inc snuggy hood. In the end just hoegged her. Not ideal but mane looks Mmuch nicer when grows back!

It falls out due to heat under neck rug not rubbing so only way to stop it is not using neck rug I'm

My horses mane fell out as neck rug rubbed and causes it to mat up. When I Tried to ease through mats apart gentle the mane just came but in clumps!

Bossy bibs mane guard is expensive but brilliant - well worth the investment if mine lasts as long as the standard bib (currently 6/7 years)

Megatek do a product for hair growth which seemed to help a bit.

net-tex stop itch is what i used for my boys tail, he rubbed it all off and has grown back pretty quickly!
