Im just wondering if anyone knows of any part time horse/animal massage therapy courses in or around south east wales? I need something that will give me the necessary training to be able to start my own business but without having to give up work just yet.

Thanks in advance!

I would say that it is handwork, to qualify along side existing commitments, but it is possible (i did it).

I'd also bare in mind how many people are currently working your area, as it is something that is quite saturated in some areas, which can make it difficult to build up your client base.

What course did you use? I have found a few online but I don't really know how to tell which ones will give me recognised qualifications.

Have you looked at the Masterson Method?? I did the weekend course back in March of this year and thoroughly enjoyed this technique.

I'm hooked and looking to climb the next rung of their ladder and do the 5 day advanced course now and then get on board with the case studies etc,..

Ask the people running the course to whom they are externally accredited, then ring an insurance company and ask if they will insure you if you get that particular qualification. That should help you weed the wheat from the chaff! The majority of part time courses are only for teaching people to work on their own animals and are not externally recognised such that participants can obtain insurance - a necessary prereq before practicing on someone elses animal.
