Sorry I know its been done to death but can you recommend some good horse movies. Its a quiet day at work so am watching movies online!

Have so far watched Seabiscuit and International Velvet(forgot how good it is!!) and Dreamer. Dont really fancy Black Beauty/Stallion or Hidalgo and def not Horse Whisperer as it annoys the hell out of me!

What others are there!

As for films, yes I too love International Velvet, I always cry with that lovely music when she runs to the foal!!

Er, Racing Stripes, though it's not great. Um..Possibly watch Saddle club online somewhere?? Other than that, Ohh Riders the movie?

See if you can find Follyfoot the TV series - that was AMAZING!!!! Post a link if you find it I'd love to watch it again!

Can't help you much with the films, although I'd recommend National Velvet if you like International Velvet as it is the original - international velvet was supposed to be a sequal. It stars a very young Elizabeth Taylor as Velvet. The book by Enid Bagnold is good too.

I think Misty of Chincoteague was made into a film once, I've never seen it though, if you find it post a link, the book was great!
 
Also there's the old Silver Brumby stuff. Was originally a book but was made into tv series I think aswell - but there's defo a couple of film adaptations of it.

Wish they'd made the Jill and the Jinny books into films!
 
My Friend Flicka, Thunderhead and Green Grass of Wyoming were all made into movies.

Man from Snowy river has one of the best horsey action shots ever.

The little white horse was made into a movie last year - was called Moonacre I think.

The Sundowners is another horse race movie - set in the Australian depression.

Champions always makes me cry as does Flash the pit pony/escape from the dark - it has two names.

Apparently Straight From The Heart is also very good, and I have to admit to being a fan of Racing Stripes lol.
Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken was also very good, but a bit strange at times.

All the rest I found to be a bit silly to be honest...
 
my favourite movie of all time was the white pony, about a girl who goes to ireland to stay with her uncle, keeps fallilng of her cousins ponies and gets told she cant ride them so she meets a leprechaun who helps her tame a wild unicorn, really cheesey movie but its awesome i used to watch it all the time as a child!
 
Oh don't forget The Black Stallion (although like me, it will make you want to leave for Sardinia, immediately!)

And Valley of the Gwangi, absolutely bonkers dinosaur/cowboy film crossover.
 
my all time fave is king of the wind but you can only buy it in vhs and in america. so if anyone knows where it can get it in dvd let me know!!!
