So, although this is a bit of a girly post for me....
I was thinking this morning that Cruise Missile has to be the coolest thing ever to call a horse. I also like Man o War, there is a theme there!!!

What is the coolest name for a horse do you think, (love some old fashioned names like Whistlejacket), and doesn't it make you despairof the awful crap some SJers are called.

Don't know about coolest name but one of the funniest names I have heard recently was an old SJer called Norfolk In-Chance (read it out loud

My friend's horse can be a bit dopey so we said we should name her 'the Sunshine Bus' so when she goes in the ring the judge will announce here is so and so riding the Sunshine Bus!!!!

One of the horses on my yard is names Mr Cool - and you know what - he is he is soooo laid back - no other name would suit him LOL

The YO had an ex-rachorse mare called Society Pet (stable name Tara, after Tara Palmer-Tomkinson), I thought that it was v.apt as she was a bit of a madam.

My first pony was a new forest and he was called Sergeant BUzz Fuzz ! He had a mane like a loo brush. Dont know where the name came from!

Friend has a lovely little horse called Sherman after the Sherman Tank - because that's exactly what he looked like when he was born - a little square block!

Friend has a palmino dressage horse called ;Casual Blonde' she has long natural blonde hair to!!!!
Someone else used I know used to have one called 'Chequetaker'!!!

I had a friend at my yard (who has since moved) who has a horse called Kevin - I think it the most amazing horse name ever - until she told me of another horse she knew called DAVE!!!

My mare has had a few nicknames through the years...but at the yard I used to be at her name was Madam Gucci - cos she is like an aging supermodel with diva attitude and always had good clothes on!!!
When I was younger I rode a pony called Hiedi - I used to take her jumping and we called her Turbo Boost..everyone used to take the mickey out of her - that she wont be able to do the course or be quick enough...she was a hairy, little skewbald with a wall eye, mad mane and tail...so we called her Turbo and everyone thought it funny when they announced it and we came in to the ring and we would go in and jump fantastically (her doing not mine!!) and do really well, they soon shut up. Everyone underestimated her cos of the way she looked - so we thought we would show 'em!!! She was fab.
I knew a horse called E.T. cos he was born when the film came out and one called Beckham cos he was golden and good-looking!!!

I had a warmblood called "David" once - the name was luckily changed shortly before I bought him though! Still said it on his damn breeding papers...! WHY would you call a horse that?!

I do like cutesy names for ickle ponies like "Fluffy" or "Pumpkin" - so sad! My favourite names for horses are exotic sorts.

I think some of Carol Bardo's show names are inspired,

Robocob,
Incobnito,
The cobbler

(all cobs of course)

We have a new baby cob at the yard and his stable names have gone through Willie, Gook, Grey Cob (how original) and is now Anton (from strictly come dancing).
