I am about to buy some land from a farmer and need to sort out getting the field fenced. The only problem is that his adjoining field will have sheep in for 6 months of the year so I need some horse friendly fencing which will keep the sheep out.

The only thing I can see that will work is this horse netting as it has smaller squares than stock fencing so is meant to be safer.

After a bit of research I have found two companies that manufacture it, Tornado and Red Brand.

Does anyone have any experience of this fencing or indeed have any recommendations or advice. It will all be gratefully recieved!!

Also any advice on what posts to use? Half round or full round? Want to do a good job so it lasts!

Thanks

Round posts.

I have never used horse netting so couldn't give an opinion on that. I use 9 gauge stock wire (I have had 6000m of the stuff put up since I've been here)and have obviously been very lucky because I've never had any problems with it. Keeps the dogs/goats/sheep/cattle/horses in and the coyotes out. Doesn't stop deer or turkeys though!
