Horse not pooing after sedation

Orkan was sedated at lunchtime for back treatment and hadn't pooed at 4.30pm when I went up to give him dinner and check him. YO just text me to say he is weeing but not pooing

Anyone else heard of this after sedation?

I would be very careful and have the vet's number on speed-dial.

Zak was sedated for a tooth extraction and ended up with colic caused by faecal compaction in the colon (ew.) the day after. Vet was called and all ended well, but was told that the sedative had slowed the muscles involved with the gut causing peristalsis to virtually stop, hence the compaction.
 
Vet isn't too worried as he is still eating and not colicy at all. Vet said if he hasn't gone by morning to let him know.... YO going to perform 10pm check to see how he is.

ETA He has pooed! Thank goodness (wipes sweat of brow) Think he is determined to give me high blood pressure and eat all my money
