I have owned my mare for just over a year. She is a 9 year old dutch warmblood. In general she is a bit of a worrier and a tense horse that when riding, you have to ride up and together initially before she will start to relax and drop her head. She is a little stiff on her right rein but nothing major.

Of late I have been lunging her in the school in just her bridle. Usually I use a Pessoa, but as we have a fly problem at the moment, I have stopped using it for the time being. The only reason being that if she gets bothered by the flies she will snatch round at them, stomp or do whatever she can to be rid of them. As I have the pessoa set on the lowest setting I'm always worried she will get caught up in some way.

However. Over the last week, she has been struggling to maintain canter on the right rein and will constantly go disunited behind and almost bunny hopping in the process.

She can be a bit of a hooligan on the lunge, but never in the field or out hacking. She is not lame and she shows no obvious signs of discomfort when prodded or poked over the neck, back or loins but does seem to enjoy some deep massaging.

I have booked a McTimoney practioner to come out and look at her next thursday but was wondering if any body else has this problem with their horse and what the diagnosis was.

Her teeth are absolutely fine and her saddle is as well.
