Hi, my Welsh pony doesn't feel or look right when I ride him. He doesn't favour a side or trot up unsound. He doesn't seem to be nodding his head or even less willing to go forward. He looks well but he seems to have lost some elasticity and bounce pulsars he has a big action plus he was a bit subdued on the ground.

I'm thinking it might be back but is fine to be poked and prided

Any ideas?

Try a physio. He could be caught in one of his muscles which could make him feel as you describe but it would not be obvious in any other way. If it is this, it is quite easy for a physio to fix with a bit of massage.

OK good - I only asked because being off colour can be an early indicator of strangles...
