Hi guys,
Not a very happy post. About 10 months ago I realised I would have to sell my youngster. Had her advertised locally in all tack shops, yards etc. Had her in the paper and a couple of mags for a while, also on the ad-trader and pre-loved.
She just isn't selling, had a couple of phone calls but that's it.

She is about 14.3hh, unbroken, coloured 3 yr old TB x.

I don't quite know where to go now, she needs to go before Winter as I don't have the money or the time at all for her. Owned since birth so a sad sale and I would take penny's to know she is in a happy home.

Any suggestions welcome, feeling pretty rubbish right now!

Is she too expensive? Could you drop the price?

The sites that she is on are not the best really. I would spend a bit of money and put her in H&H. Its not that expensive for cheaper horses, and has a huge audience...

She was on at the start of her being for sale, also in Horse Deals. She is up for under 1000.

Even though I'm at the point where I am really struggling I couldn't let her go to a dealer. She can be a bit of a handful but doesn't have a nasty bone in her body.

You need to think which sites you would look at if you were going to buy a horse and use those as thats where buyers would be looking.
Its not the best time of year to be selling a horse but if you write a good honest advert thats easy to read, then have a clean up day for the horse and do a photoshoot so you can use pictures that show the whole horse standing properly and looking alert preferably from both sides, and an action one if you can get her trotting in the field or a school then you will have a big advantage over a lot of other horses and should get replies.

Could you back her? A just backed 3 yr old would appeal to more people.. If not could you turn her away for the winter, back her next spring and then sell her?

I agree Preloved and Ad Trader are not the best websites to advertise on. Go for more specialised equestrian ones, there are plenty of free ones such as Horse Gossip, The Horse Exchange and Buy That Horse putting her on there is not going to cost you anymore but will keep her exposed to the market.

Have you thought about Coloured Contacts its £10 to advertise but its a website especially for coloured horses.
