Hope you can shed some light.

My OTTB has been finding it more and more difficult to bend to the right. I also noticed the other day when I was lunging him that when on the right rein, his tracks from his hind feet are not lining with with his tracks from his front feet. In other words, he is not traveling straight when on the right rein, but is when on the left rein.

The physio is coming tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? or any suggestions on how to encourage him to bend?

Your doing the correct thing by having the Physio out to your horse. If they are any good they should be able to tell you what they believe the problem to be & then they'll be able to advise you of what to do to correct the issue.

To offer opinions on this issue without having the facts would be irresponsible. Good Luck tomorow.

I agree the best course of action is to have the Physio or a Chiro, but I would also have my saddle available for them to assess, or have it checked by a saddler. Even if the problem also manifests on the lunge with no saddle, if the saddle is causing muscle pain then the horse may still save that part even when lunged without.
