horse not wanting hay now??

Hi all just wondering my two are now out on some nice grass have been for couple of weeks but still coming in at night. When their in their barely touching their hay some nights they pick and others they'll eat a little more but not a lot. I know my two will not eat so much hay when they've been out in winter as theyvr got a taste for the grass so hay seems boring I guess in comparison, but I just wondered do others do this when they have the option they just seem to chill out more in stable now and then munch during the day.
 
I wouldn't say mine picks at her net, but I've almost halved the size from winter nets and there's still some left over in the morning. Her bed is flat, her fleece is covered in shavings, so I suspect there's a lot of snoozing going on.
 
I think when the grass comes they think the stable is more use for sleeping than eating when they come in and their bellys are full. I'd cut down so there is still a little left in the morning.
Mine are only coming in for a few hours in the day and they don't even disturb the sections in their hay bars!

My thoroughbred has done exactly the same, (out on nice grass in the day, in at night and eats about half a wedge of hay from his net, where as before when the grass was naff he would heat 4 wedges in a night!!)

My warmblood on the otherhand- (gready, gready boy) still eats his net, but leaves some in the bottom, where as there would be not one strand left a month ago haha!

Last night I left them out for the first time this year and they ate the grass all night and liked that:D
But they will come in again tonight as its meant to be raining:(
 
Mine's the same. He's out on nice grass during the day, comes in, has a snooze, then dinner (which he always eats!). He has about 5 sections of hay a night, he picks at it and theres always plenty left in the mornings, which is reassuring as I know he's had food all night if he wants it. I'm not too worried. He'll happily snatch grass or hay out of other horses nets!
 
I bring mine in for the mornings whilst im at work and they barely touch their hay now, my field still looks bare but they must have enough out there I guess!
 
Ours are out 24/7 and are still desperate for hay - we've had very little grass growth. In fact this is the first night when, letting the dogs out of the back door for a last run at midnight, there have not been enthusiastic bellows from over the fence, while I put down a clump of hay for each horse. But rain is forecast in the next hour or two, and if we get a decent wetting it will kick start the grass. then I will expect them to lose all interest in hay very quickly.....
 
Ours are living out and they have a token amount of hay morning and night. My mare will eat a little of the morning hay then she will wander off to graze leaving some hay behind (her field mate finishes it off). The grass is coming through and she would rather eat that.
 
I have two out at night , they come in in the morning for a few hours they are definatly less hungry when they come in they are eating haylage but without the gusto they where ten days ago .
Field looks bare but they move next week to the summer field.
 
Mine are out 24/7 and last night was the first time that they didn't bother with the hay I put out. There doesn't appear to be much grass in the paddock but they are obviously getting enough, so no more hay in field!
