My horse has not done much work in last 3 weeks due to being on holiday and then work commitments.
He had mild colic a week ago but seems to have come back to usual cheeky self.
My concern is that he came back into work a few days ago and will not accept a contact.
He has hacked one day, pole work another day and a friend schooled him today and said same. I thought may just be freshness at first but now am concerned it may be something else.
He was in a myler low port with hooks and a drop noseband but almost seemed to be running away from it and hollowing so we went back to loose cavesson and his myler comfort snaffle but still no better.
Have ordered some loose ring snaffles to try from bit bank to see if it is but he not happy with. Also had saddle checked last week as he lost weight and she advised to put a thicker pad under it and see how it goes as he likely to muscle up again and change shape so she reluctant to change the flocking again.
Am concerned that it possibly his back that bothering him.
Any ideas? Teeth been done in last few weeks.
