Horse of the year show back on terrestrial TV?

Looked like she was about to drop. I can't believe thats the best of the best
In fairness to the mare she had a foal at foot at HOYS and may well be in foal again. I don't know how many foals she has had but it's not uncommon for mares to look permanently 'Broody' once they've had a few.

She is a correct and beautiful pony who is an exceptional mover, she was also Champion at the Royal Welsh this year so she definitely deserved to be there.

I don't personally know the pony or the owners btw I have just admired her from the Ringside.

It was great to have coverage on terrestrial tv, I found it a bit of a whistlestop tour for my own viewing but I can see that for non horsey people it was done well and I think it did a really good job of showing how much the horses are loved and looked after and I think equestrianism needs any of that publicity it can get at the moment.

Phew I’m glad I’m not the only one

Foals 22, 23 and 25

I just had it on in the background there and it did feel very short! Felt like I watched more ads than classes 😂 But still nice, hope it did okay for viewership.

The ad breaks were actually shorter than normal, which means that the “take up” of advertising space was not the best….
If, we the equine community want equestrian sports back on terrestrial television, then we must watch, otherwise, like rugby union we will lose or in our case not get back top events…
Rugby Union has a huge following but now,, for instance the England v Australia, Ireland v All Blacks and the Scottish games the weekend just past were all behind paywalls….
I personally used to watch every international rugby game and any other game that was televised now apart from the six nations you have to pay, don’t know about anyone else but that means I pay for Badminton and Burghley and a single top rugby game in this instance the Ireland v All Blacks and I simply cannot afford to pay for more……which why I was delighted to watch the HOYS coverage……and please do stop saying it would have been great for “non horsey” people….

I was slightly disappointed but only with the "added after" commentary which got on my last nerve but I can see why they did it and I totally appreciate them trying to draw people in. So with that in mind I will also email them stating that it was fabulous and we need more please as there are a lot of fans out there who would definitely tune in.

Quite enjoyed it but was spoilt by seeing JO and 2nd wife on there. Worked for him once. It was awful. They didn’t treat the animals very well in some respects and his behaviour around women, including teenage girls, was totally inappropriate. Can’t say any details on this forum but brought back horrible memories 😔
