I am a novice horse owner. I've had my mare on full loan since 1st Jan (my first horse) and have just moved her from her 'home' yard last week.
Today she was a bit sluggish and her glands are up a little.
She is alert and happily eating. Her nose is not snotty. Poo is normal.
A few people on the yard had a look at her and we'll keep an eye on her to see if she gets better/worse.
a) is it common for a horse to be off colour soon after a yard move?
b) should I let her owner know she's a bit off colour? would this worry her unnecessarily (sp!)
c) can anyone recommend any good horse first aid books.
Thanks in advance......

Has she been out in the feild at the new yard? And if so how long for and how much has she been out at the old yard and on what type of graxing. It may be that shes been guaging on spring grass shes sluggish cos shes stuffed and the glands are up from the fresh grass, its quite commen when theyve stuffed there faces on grass?

Yes.

Two Shagyas arrived here from Hungary one was as right as rain the other took weeks to settle. My 27 year old (now 32) shipped from Scotland to France as happy as Larry. My much younger Highland who had never left home made the same trip and took a long time to adjust.

Don't stress - find her a friend it you can and be patient.

That would make sense.
She used to go out for 4 hours per day, every day on well grazed grass.
Now she's out all day 4 days per week (today was a day she was out) and the grazing looks much more lush.
She will be in for the next 2 days so I'll see how she goes.
Thanks - mind put slightly at rest.
