My poor horse is off to the Royal Vet College on Monday for a bone scan to try to work out what on earth is wrong with him. Basically he has changed from poppet to grouch, won't canter on the right lead and is refusing to be lunged - turning in on the person lungeing him, ears back, swishing tail etc. He hasn't been lame, unsound or uneven but obviously 'isn't right'. So after lots of time with the back man and a course of pain killers / anti inflammatories, time off, and a vet exam, he has been referred.
I am going out of my mind worrying what they will find. Could be anything of course, but I can't help but think it will be something dreadful and he'll be 'broken' for good. Having lost my previous horse last December I can see only gloom and doom at the mo.
Any pointers as to what may show up on a bone scan? the sort of injury that could be causing this? I know I just have to wait and see, but I feel so helpless. Poor chap.
