:( Just having a bit of a whinge...I moved my mare about 8 weeks ago onto a grass livery field with another horse...now I've been left to sort everything out (not even sure if she goes up) but I do all the water (non at field) check them over ad flyspray rescue him from his fly rug countless times..had to text her to tell her his headcollar has rubbed his skin raw *how she hadnt noticed:eek:* had to work late last week so asked her to take some water up so then I only had to check my mare over *she said she couldnt do it *...other horse isnt field owners her horse is coming up at weekend so things might change but this other owner is such a Piss take and is ruining a near perfect situation for me..

And Breathes....:)

You need to talk to whoever you rent your space off. Say that she's not caring for the horse properly. I'd also say you were thinking of seperating them and fencing your horse off it's own patch. Then she'll HAVE to look after it! Then you can call the RSPCA!

There's a woman up our yard who we reckon hardly ever comes up, and when she does she just looks at them for 50 ft! Basically checks they're still alive! Why these people bother to have horses I don't know!

Second the part about mentioning fencing the field in half. Otherwise, i am sure things will change at weekend, as i imagine field owner isn't going to stand for it either. Maybe just mention it to her as a sort of 'warning' that the other owner can't be relied on to do anything, and she may have a quiet word.

(did you get my pm by the way? Just checking x)

I think with some people they just know what type of person they can play!! she knows I go up everyday x2 and she knows I would never leave mine without water as she knows I'll contact her IF theres anything wrong with hers...so the horse looking after book has been passed  but I just pee's me that I'm doing my mare at field then go and do my others at mine jees like I dont have enough to do!!!

And Beathes again...:D

We had someone who loaned our pony last year who was like that. We got so fed up that we gave them a months notice (shame you can't do that!) as we were sick of seeing the pony baking hot in the heat wave, and never getting checked (of course we did it.. The mother now doesn't speak to us because we are selfish and cruel for taking the pony away from her darling daughter!

Some people take the mickey, others truely have no idea and shouldn't have horses!!

This is such a difficult situation to be in, I've been there myself. The only solution really is to move out :( I was carting water for 7 horses (3 only of which were mine and they came in at night whilst hers were out all the time) during the snow, the fat idle so and so never came up once, yet alone offered to take some water down to the trough... :( As you say, it really does ruin your enjoyment.

Have been there too!! And when I asked her to do a night and morning so I could go to a spa for my birthday, she under duress, fed the horses in the field.....in December....in the dark, rather than bring them in and have to muck out the next morning as had been doing! The next evening, my mare paniced and knocked her over in the mud and galloped off! Of course it was my dangerous horse and not the change of routine that did it:rolleyes:

Next day, we were gone and gone for good:D

I hear you:-)

My boy is out with 1 of the the YO horses and one they have in for training at the moment. Went to the field on Sunday (they had only been out 24/7 since Saturday morning) and took out two full barrows of poo.

I just made a "bloody hell they are pooing a lot just taken out two barrows full" captain subtitle " I don't mind doing it but don't take the piss"!

Has improved and I am now taking out 1 barrow a day which is better.

It is actually easier when they are in, my horse, my stable my **** and my poo pick shift is one day a week. lol
