My friends (who arent horsey) at school are always saying how Jack Wills (clothes) are for horsey people, and only people who ride or own horses wear it. I think thats complete rubbish. So, who here wears Jack Wills a lot? I own the odd few items that i got cheap in the sale, lol, but thats it.

Im 100% definate that Jack Wills is a sailing make, not a horsey one, but they still disagree.

Lol sorry for the randomness but I want to prove them wrong. Btw Jack Wills is a pricey designer make of clothing thats becoming extremely popular everywhere now, despite starting in Salcombe.

I have a few Jack Wills items, definitly not to ride...I pretty much ride in slobs which is much more comfy and to be honest, I'm hardly up the stables trying to impress anyone with my clothing!! haha!!!

I think its because a lot of the 'posh' clone type girls from certain types of schools etc tend to wear it all quite a lot and people associate that with horses/polo etc. <---Oooo stereotype!! haha!!

Jack Wills is defintely not horsey stuff, just trendy and not even particularly sailing stuff either. Too expensive for me though I'm afraid!

I had never heard of it but just Googled it and it looks nice.........for my skinny teenage daughter. I prefer buying clothes for her than for me nowadays because she looks lovely in things and I just look like a blob!

Have to confess not heard of Jack Wills even in a sailing context, the label I know for sailing, having been to Southampton boat show quite a bit, is Henri Lloyd.

JW is a sailing brand!
I own JW pieces, but thats because i like the clothes, not because its a horses brand. I ride in Pikeur, not JW!

Ditto everything above

i went to a private all girls school and the majority of girls there wore it... it was more a status thing than anything else!

i have a couple of sales items but i dont really see whats so great about it all!

There clothng range is lovely, it is not horsey at all but I do think horsey people will appreciate and like it, although it does have a little hint of Joules kicking about, its got a bit of a of the old English vintage twist to it, again a bit sailer club type too, in fact I know how anyone could not like it!

Jack Wills now has the same following that Joules did about 18months ago - one of these inbrands that you must be seen wearing. I know all of the above posters have said they don't wear it to ride in but I swear I saw more JW than Joules stuff at Hickstead this year.

Only time will tell and JW have opened so many more shops now that it's got that following. VERY popular for those in the "rahhh, pashmina, short skirt and dubarry" set!

Never heard of it until now - just had a look and seems right up the street of little rich girls whose parents pay for their clothes.

Never heard of it either, but I'm sure I'll get to see it before too long. With my clothes I don't do trendy (I honestly don't even own a Joules item!) - I do however go for quality, practicality and comfort - as long as it's got all three of them and is also in a sale, then I don't care what brand it is.

JW is most definately NOT a horsey make!!!Its a preppy make

I go to a private all girls high school and I would say about 85% of the school have at least one item of jack wills in their wardrobe. I do not own any (and proud

) On non uniform days its like you've walked into a Jack Wills and abercrombie and fitch shop

So "smash" You've got it spot on there

Nope I have never heard of it as a sailing brand either.

Generally it's Musto, Henri Lloyd, Gill, Dubarry. Not very exciting really. Only just thought, is it anything to do with Lazy Jacks?

Ditto, They are nice clothes though, as are Abercrombie & Fitch, I certainly wouldn't ride in them though.

Nope, none at all! It probably has the sailing link (I don't think it's sailing-y at all; you want sailing - Musto or Crew tbh) because it's main base is in Salcombe

I never meant that you RODE in them. Slight misunderstanding there. My friends meant that not when you ride, but in general, like wear shopping and stuff.

I wouldnt dare wear ANY of my JW stuff riding! I wear old clothes, as my mum hates me coming home stinking of horse muck. lol, any clothes i ride in are probably old or too small for me, haha.
