Please, please help me! I am moving to RAF Leeming/Northallerton area in about six weeks time and I have nowhere to put my horse and I am panicking big time!!!

My mare was kicked around six weeks ago now and has had surgery to repair a fracture to her fetlock, and is currently on box rest. However, we are hoping to coincide the move to Leeming with when she is due to be allowed turnout (24th November). She has to go in a paddock no larger that 12ftx12ft for the first 2 months, followed by no more than 12mx12m for the next two months.
I am trying to find somewhere to keep her. My friend keeps a horse at Northallerton Equestrian Centre whom I have contacted and they are happy to accommodate me - to the tune of £175 per month. Whilst the facilities are wonderful and this includes unlimited haylage and straw which is great, I cannot use any of the other facilities until Fizz is fixed and so I am loathe to take her there for now - it seems an awful lot of money for a horse that is still recuperating.
Does anyone know of anywhere in that area that does grass livery, or rents out land?

Google Thornton Watlass horse trials. Also try Helen bell (google Helen bell equestrian). And eleanor mercer equestrian. To be honest though, I think they may be more than what you have already quoted. Most DIY's in the area I have found are in the region of £35-40 per week. Good luck!!

Northallerton Equestrian Centre is a decent place although I have no experience of keeping a horse there. There's also Richmond equestrian centre which isn't that much further away. Helen Bell's is another one. Not sure re grass livery though but to be honest it's BIG horse country up that way so I don't think you'll struggle to find somewhere!!

Although, if it was a full grass livery where i would pay for her to be checked and hayed in the field etc. then I would consider that also.

Fieldhouse equestrian just outside of leeming may be worth a try. There's no livery at Thornton Watlass sO not sure if that would be worth trying, though they are undoubtedly superstars! There's stewart Thompson near masham who takes liveries and Frank Thornton near Bedale but not sure if they would have the restricted turn out required. Good luck I hope you find something!

Hi, we're at RAF Leeming too. There are some places we haven't really explored in Leeming village and Londonderry, we haven't looked into them as such because even though they are probably the closest the diversions because of the road works on the A1 made them hard to get too.
We have out pony on Springfield farm in Bedale (if you google it you should come up with a website)
I dont know if they have any vacancies but its DIY with 24/7 turnout in summer and daytime turn out in winter. they do have several small outdoor pens with a sand surface for lami prone horses or those being rehabilitated which may be good for yours.
