horse owners "prolific cheaters"

Very strange. What about people who don't own any pets at all or who own all 3? And why present it as they have - could have said horse owners less likely to cheat than cat/dog owners. Stoopid.

Could the results not be interpreted as the most popular pets amongst those tested as they didn't balance the results to take into account the popularity of the pet?

There are lies, damn lies, and statistics!!

If they had I believe horse owners would have come out on top by a long way! naughty bunch of people you lot are. :p

Daresay they did their research in the pages of a Jilly Cooper novel. Don't you just love these ridiculous statistics. Do they actually get paid to do them?

Don't answer that, in case the answer is yes and it comes out of tax payers pockets ;-)

I can't believe the stats are true, as presumably they asked pet owners in these categories, if someone saw me with a horse and said they were conducting a survey on this subject I would have to lie to them and tell them I was 'at it' all the time, for asking such a stupid question :D:D

Jeepers what a load of tripe! Most households have a cat or dog. So not exactly a surprise that 'cheaters' are found to own one or the other! Duh. Kind of obvious.

And as for people who keep horses being stereotypically 'wealthy' and therefore more likely to cheat.... you wot!!! None of the people I know who keep horses have (a) money! or, (b) time to cheat!!!!

Plus I find the alluring aroma of 'eau de cheval' quite an effective deterent!

Stupid interpretation of the results of a totally meaningless survey!

Here are the relevant stats:

"In a survey of 2,000 "unfaithful spouses", the website discovered that the most common pet for cheaters to keep is a cat (45%), followed by a dog (29%) followed by horses and ponies (8%)."

So - the researchers ONLY interviewed 'cheaters', with no control group of faithful spouses for comparison. Without a control group, the survey tells us absolutely nothing whatsoever about cheaters - their habits and responses (and pets!) could be exactly the same as those of faithful spouses.

I've led too sheltered a life! When I read the title I thought it meant cheat as in do wrong, cheat someone out of money and so on. I don't count the other as cheating, just normal............................

LOL!!! That is the funniest thing I have read today... thanks OP!!!

As opposed to whom exactly though? Computer nerds??? Tennis players??? Footballers????

I though that was hilarious - and reckon the cat/dog/horse owning category covered most of the adults in the UK......

Well - I'm a good girl sp yah boo sucks to the survey!

I can't believe that anyone who owns horses would have the spare time to go frolicking around having affairs!

Exactly what I was thinking looool I go to work comwe home go straight to the yard and then straight to the OH .... where I would fit these random bonks in I just don't know looool :p
