The post on what people wear while they're riding got me thinking. I wear jods to ride, jeans to do other horse stuff in, different jeans to do non-horse non-work stuff in and smarter trousers for work. I have a similar tops system. I don't wash my jods/ jeans/ smarter trousers every single time I wear them (particularly the horsey clothes as they've never complained about me smelling). This means I end up with four sets of trousers and assorted associated tops on the go at once, and that's on a good day. I generally just have them in heaps on the floor, with the slightly smarter clothes over the back of a chair but it gets a bit wearing having everything lying around all the time. Does anyone have any cunning clothing systems that keep things neat but smelly and non-smelly separate?!

smelly on the floor
non smell in wardrobe

soloequestrian - don't know but when you figure it out please share. Meanwhile, I'm a dog groomer so have dog grooming clothes, riding clothes, house work clothes, shopping and being seen clothes, and never anything to wear! Good thing I don't go to the gym any more! tee hee

the trick for me is that i have a massive wardrobe and my stable clothes get washed almost everynight if not they get folded over the back of my chair, but in my wardrobe one side is normal clothes and the other is CLEAN stable stuff which there is more of lol on occasion it gets messy once again typical teen

Riding clothes live in a basket and a bin in the hall: in-use in the basket, clean in the bin. Show shirts and tweed on hangers.

Other clothes live in the closet or piled on a chair, or draped over various pieces of furniture...

horse clothes on floor, work clothes on chair- cant afford going out clothes with horses to clothe and feed!!!!! Wardrobe hosts empty hangers most of time- unless mum visits and irons lol!

Its shoes with me. Mountain horse long boots- live in hall worn daily. Work shoes- live in hall too. Prob rises when I go straight from work to horses and change into boots. End up with 10 pairs of muddy shoes in car- non clean for work!!!

Hmmmm - horsie jackets and fleeces in the boot of car, general riding stuff potentially anywhere in car. Much amusement from colleagues fromtime to time! Clean riding stuff in drawers, smelly stuff packed in overnight bag as I go straight from work to yard so need to get changed. Am good girl and put suit in a hanger which then ends up hung on bed much to OH dismay!

I'm sure he's a bit OCD, but who cares when all your stinky washing turnes into clean, ironed and put away clothes. Still coming to terms with ironed breeches though lol

Everything just gets stuck on the back of the chair- I normally have daytime non horsey clothes, jods and a hoodie I ride in and another hoodie/joggers combo for chilling in the evenings... if jods and riding jumper are really smelly they get folded up and put on the seat of chair! That said I don't tend to wear horse clothes more than twice before they get washed- I attract mud and dirt like mad at the stables

I don't let my horsey stuff get too smelly, if they do then they go into wash, but if they're ok then they go under my study desk in the spare bedroom. Or into the cupboard where the dirty laudry goes anyway.

Clean horse stuff has it's own seperate drawer from other things.

I wear the same clothes no matter what I'm doing!

I have 2 pairs of jeans, which I wear for work, yard duties, riding, everything really. Then I have plenty of t-shirts, black for work, tend to wear the other colours for yard as I have a grey horse, and whilst I have shown up for work in a black t-shirt covered in grey horse hair it's not a good look.

Everything just gets recycled and lives in the washing basket, if I'm desperate I just borrow things out fo there.

The only things in my wardrobe are going out clothes (but I never go out so they never move unless a friend wants to borrow something)

.......but added to that list (and yes, I'm the same!) is different clothes according to the weather!! Long sleeved rugby shirt worn for an hour in the morning while mucking out, later in the day warms up so swap for short sleeved t-shirt..........it's never ending

I loved reading this thread - I feel normal!

Ditto the lots of coats and horsey clothes in car, other stuff on bedroom floor, work clothes in wardrobe, large pile of unironed clothes languishing in ironing basket for very long periods

That's the same as me, except my friends wouldn't want to borrow any of my clothes

horse stuff in basket by back door, non horse/ going out clothes eithe rhung up or on chair and same with work clothes as OH is farmer we have many smelly/ dirty/ distgusting clothes so the rule is they stay down stairs folded in either bathroom or backdoor area.
I tend to hang up my dresses and skirts after i have worn them once so they dont get crumpled so i dont have to iron or wash can just pull off hanger and go!!
