My mare obviously suffers from allergies at this time of year. She snorts almost constantly, whether in her stable or out in the field from July to September. It happens every year.

A fine mist of nasal excretion is blow out at every 'sneeze'. Does anyone know of anything that helps alleviate these symptoms. It must be very tiresome for her.

She is 5 and currently having the summer off.

ventipulmin!!!! wonderful stuff!!

i would also chat to the vet in general- if she is only 5, it might be worth an op (obv depending on the symptoms the allergy causes)

i also found a full nose net whilst being worked helped my boy tremendously

Hi thanks. She's due her vaccs anytime now so I'll ask the vet to look into her snorting whilst he's out. It would be great to find something to help stop the constant sneezing. It's ridiculous how often she does it. It must drive her nuts. :)

My cob has started doing the same within the last couple of months, no so much in the stable but when he's ridden or being brought in from the field. He coughs when ridden occationally too. Chat with the vet myself too I think.

Could she have something like a grass seed up her nose? I'd get the vet to check.

It's unlikely since she gets it at the same time every year. She's very sensitive and thin skinned; prone to allergies, lumps and bumps and runny eyes in summer, plus this persistent snorting problem which lasts months through summer.

I'll definitely contact the vet tomorrow and book her vacs and a check-up.

Look at equilibrium products. Their maxi field mask can go on her both in the stable and field, it has the nose net attached. Then get the nosenet for ridden work. I can even attach it to my grackle. It's the only "legal" nosenet competition wise.
