hi all my horse has always plaited with his front legs whilst turned out and ridden does any one know how this could affect him in the future will it possibly lead to unsoundness, he brings the left fore further over than the right
he is 13 yrs old now and i have owned him since he was 6 months old,
he is always worked in boots he used to have brushing now wears tendon and overreach boots
is there any thing i can do or feed him to keep him active but to date he has never ever been lame.

thank you

I'd say if he's 13 and never been lame, he's coping quite well! We're all a little wonky in some way or another, and most of us manage somehow...what do you do with him? Anything very athletic?

he wont jump, wont ride in and arena so is a very happy hacker but we do go out for hours up to 5 some times, i also drive him a lot and we do a lot of weddings nearly every week this time of year,
but the past few months he feels a bit short and heavy on his left fore

If you think he feels off, maybe you should ask your vet or farrier to take a look. It might not have anything to do with the plaiting.
