our mare has poked her tongue out slightly since we got her a year ago. she was in a myler comfort snaffle and this has been changed recently to a mullen myler with fulmer cheeks to help with steering when jumping. steering is much improved and generally she is going nicely. however she still pokes her tongue out,not all the time in fact it seems to get less as she softens and relaxes but she has also i think bitten her tongue when jumping. not badly but im sure its related to her poking tongue out..instructor thinks we should perservere as shes improved but im concerned that shes still uncomfortable in her mouth.i guess it could be habit but would welcome any advice..has to be dressage legal she pokes it out at the front not at the side.she is highland x tb she needed quite a lot of work with power tools in feb so wonder if its possible shes got into a habit due to previous discomfort
