Hope you got this all sorted and it was just an innocent situation but if it is not, poor ponies.
They phoned me about half an hour after I first called them as they were in the area but needed directions to the exact location of the horsebox, which I gave them. I haven't heard from them since. Mum said the lorry had gone when she got up at about 7am, so either the police made him move it or he's just done his usual and driven it elsewhere. Police said that they would phone me with an update so will wait for a call later.
webble - I think the 'journey time' refers to length of time spent on the box.
at best someone who's probably a dodgy dealer of the breed that one is not allowed to say on here.
Oh here we go again! How on earth can you automatically piece together all that information and just assume its probably a traveller?
I'd like to point out that I wasn't.i was simply disagreeing with the previous poster's statement that we're not allowed to say traveller. I don't see why he should be either.

I actually think its quite shocking the amount of comments I have seen on here where people assume something dodgy means it must be a traveller. I wasn't having a pop at your comment![]()
phew
I've noticed a pattern here that posters make unpleasant comments and assumptions about travellers while at the same time implying the forum doesn't allow anyone to say the word traveller.![]()
Mum has spoken to him before, she saw him bring a pony off the back of the lorry from her kitchen window and his sons rode it around for a bit in a headcollar and lead rope, then it went back on the lorry. She saw him later on that day, so she asked him about the pony and whether he still had it in there. He flatly denied all knowledge of any pony and refused to discuss it - despite the fact that mum could hear it still....?
Yes I've noticed too! I just think its wrong to generalise like that. I know many many dodgy people who are not travellers so I don't understand why if its a traveller doing something dodgy more people seem interested and want to add a little dig at the travelling community and its wrong because there is good and bad in every culture/race ect ect
My money is on a low-end dealer. Buys in dribs and drabs, gives them a ten second ridden trial then either sells them on immediately or takes them to the nearest slaughterhouse. A bit like a small holder raising a couple of pigs per year. You won't get rich on it but its a few quid here and there.
I wondering if he is stealing and then sending them to a slaughter house. Just a horrible dark depressing thought.![]()
Yes its very common at shows for horseboxes to be used as looseboxes. I dont know why people think the worst, if you cant see inside the box how can it be definite the horse doesnt have food or water?
The chap certainly doesnt sound terribly responsible and the poor horse is no doubt between homes, not everyone's cup of tea but that doesnt mean he isnt looking after its basic needs
As previously stated, if it was my horse/pony on the back of that lorry I would be very unhappy and would want someone to do something about it. If he has nothing to hide then he has nothing to worry about.
