Horse portrait reccomendations

Am thinking of having a painting done of H for my birthday and was wondering if people can reccomend some artists?

Preferably not too expensive!

Why not consider getting a really good photo and having it mounted on canvas, it will look really good and be considerably cheaper and quicker.

I would thoroughly recommend Mary Herbert for a painting.

I had a portrait of my old lad done for my 30th, not cheap but well worth the money!

Mark Langley is very talented as Kat says ;-)

Mary Herbert is fab but expensive. You could try Facebook for artists. Susan Robertson- Animal portrait Artist does pastel portraits for around £100 and is on Facebook. I think Mark Langley and Mary Herbert are on there too, as is Gina Hawkshaw who is super talented.

Judy goodman is amazing. She has a trade stand at most county shows and I always buy at least one of her prints and I had a got my mum a painting of one of the horses for her birthday. If you google her name and equine artist you will find her website.

I really recommend this couple! Melanie did a portrait of my boyfriend's dog for his Birthday and it was amazing, a spitting image of the photograph I sent her. The chap does oil paintings and she focuses on pencil portraits. Anyway, judging by their gallery of horse portraits also, I wouldn't hesitate in using them again. Such friendly people too. Definitely worth a look!
