For the record, mine was completely aimed at correcting Birker. But I hope I did it (fairly) politely.
And this was comparing my reply to @ihatework's reply - I wanted to show that I was laughing at my half-hearted sentence whilst IHW had gone to the trouble of making numerous comments about each of the horses mentioned.Mine was more succinct
eta my emojis have disappeared and I can't remember the typing keys for a crying with laughter face. But that's what I meant!
What does this mean?Pigeons.

Playing chess with pigeons, I suspect. What does this mean?
For the OP: A good amount more than your average £10-15k all rounder for the ability to jump 1m20 consistently, and then a whack more on top for the golden unicorn that is BOTH competitive AND easy.
I must have imagined the four I put on reply seven this morning then. They all state they are jumping 1.20 plus. Maybe the adverts are imaginary.Absolutely, anyone who thinks you can get a 1.20 horse for £15k is living in a world I’d like to join!
15k barely gets you out the starting gate for a competitive 80 pony these days!
I did have a quick look at the first one, but he hadn't jumped a 1.20m course since 2021. Nice horse, but very happy jumping 1.00m / 1.05m now. And the fourth horse, again he's lovely and jumps a lot of clears but he hasn't jumped consistently at 1.20m for a couple of years. He's a great horse for the 1.10m circuit though. We've looked for a good 1.20m horse a couple of times - by which I mean a potential class winner or jumps a good proportion of clears- and we've always ended up buying a youngster. Really hard to find a good one at the £30k/£35k mark, and they sell very quickly if they come up, so we preferred to spend much less, buy a nice pedigree and enjoy the journey. 1.10m horses are easy to find comparatively.I must have imagined the four I put on reply seven this morning then. They all state they are jumping 1.20 plus. Maybe the adverts are imaginary.
But when you look at those particular adverts more closely only one potentially ticks the box (and that is two years older than the OP wants). And without looking at the competition record may not tick any box.I must have imagined the four I put on reply seven this morning then. They all state they are jumping 1.20 plus. Maybe the adverts are imaginary.
I mean IHW went through them all and helpfully explained why they didn't meet the OP's spec at all.I must have imagined the four I put on reply seven this morning then. They all state they are jumping 1.20 plus. Maybe the adverts are imaginary.
