Just looking on horsequest, and the first on in the sport horse section (by Mayhill) Is it really worth that much?! Its ok, and looks a average horse.

Hmm i wonder if they manage to sell it for that!

I agree that is a crazy price but better than putting POA - at least I know I can't afford it !

Also annoys me when the seller doesn't say where they are and just puts a mobile phone number, as I like the look of the mare underneath - but where are they ???

eek i will never be able to afford a horse if an 8 year old that has hardly done anything and appears to have average jump over 2ft6 (not to my liking though!) sells for £12000. Admittedly good breeding but it is a gelding and at 8 is getting late to start a top class eventing career.

I was looking at horse deals earlier on, was amazed to see the dreadful photo's that are 'helping' to advertise horses for in the region of £12-£15k. Madness, thought most of them were pretty average anyway!! Isn't it funny how so many horses are listed for that kind of money because they have 'potential'... er... most horses have potential!! Whether they reach it or not is another matter!

Have the same problem with horse prices and have queried this on here before. If a horse is the real deal and as genuine and as full of potential as vendor says, then they are worth price tag. But how can you possibly know from a brief viewing?
I had my eye on lovely horse who had done nothing and with no known breeding but all at yard knew he was special. He sold for £10k to an outsider, no questions asked. May be there's more too much money out there (sadly not with me)
