Horse pulling back - any ideas?

Yep Shils, thats my point, theres nothing more dangerous than a loose horse! They kill people! ...and for the bunny huggers who say "but if a horse is tied solid it can hurt it's self"...so be it, better the horse than innocent persons! I value human life above horse, no matter how I love them!

Bl**dy hell you lot like to make life complicated.

Put the horses headcollar on. Pass a lunge through the tie ring. Clip lungeline to headcollar. Gather up lungeline in your hand. Do whatever you are doing with the horse. if horse tries to pull back apply pressure to lunge line and then gently let the pressure off. The horse has then pulled back and not got a result ie freedon to leave! It works everytime.

Horses are NOT designed to be tied for long periods, its very much agaiunst their instincts to stand in one place so to expect a horse to tie up for ages, unattended, is a bit much.

As for swinging.....well.....dont.

I think you'd find if you'd read the thread, that this revolutionary yet simple concept of yours has...er...already been discussed.

...and sorry, but theres times in this world when a horse HAS to stand for a period of time and you can't always be there to hold it! If they can not safely stand tied unattended they have no place being out where they can endanger others.

Horses were also not designed to be ridden but for our purposes we MAKE them do that....we CAN make them stand bloody still for ten minutes too!
All mine seem to manage it! Hell as a matter of fact mine seem to be able to do it for hours if required, cos they KNOW that is whats required of them if asked. They do as they are told! I make the choice for them and they respect that...like it or not!
