If they could just extend it into Scotland for Tuesday I would be happy! #flatracingisboring #gonein60seconds #overinaminute ??

I wonder if it’s related to the APHA guidance that’s apparently come out about not travelling animals, hence the England specific nature.

It's not all of England either it's just parts of England. Cartmel still plan on running they have just rejigged the races so the chases are later in the day, more evening time on Monday now.

Do raceyards use transporters at all? Or all their own boxes as this is now doing the rounds:

The APHA have advised that commercial travel for all types of livestock are not permitted currently between (United Kingdom)
Saturday & Sunday: No Restrictions. Advisory in South East to “Be Alert”
Monday 11am-8pm. Restrictions on Travel
Tuesday 9am-9pm. Restrictions on Travel
During these times it would be illegal for horses to travel for commercial hire and reward and none commercial would be strongly advised not to travel. All horses travelling or competing would not be covered by insurance during these restrictions.

Some yards from flat training centres use transporters when going long distances so they can share transport. But for the most part yards have their own transport. So to whether they have aircon for the horses is a different matter. Some do, the transporters trucks certainly will but a lot won't. I know none of our 4 trucks have aircon for the horses.

Greyhound racing will be cancelled too, for a change. It's disgusting that it usually goes ahead whatever the temperature, bearing in mind that you're not supposed to walk your dog even in the low 20's, yet they're raced when it's much hotter than that. They're less able to cope with extremes of temperature than other dogs too, to make it worse. If they insist on racing them in the summer, it should at least be after 8pm.

Can anyone find the APHA info on their website. Have seen a company tweet it but can’t find the source info.
