In need of a bit of advice really
Horse refusing to eat anything but a few carrots, won't touch haylage, feed, grass slobber mash etc been ongoing for 8 days now
Trip to vets shown nothing other than slight infection in blood results somewhere but had mud fever mild so it may just be that so antibiotics started today
Drinking very small amounts but not yet dehydrated. Alert and happy in himself just not 100%
He's a big lad 18.1hh and 16 now
Next step us scoping....don't know why they didn't do it whilst he was there and sedated last week
Any ideas guys? :-(

Is he not eating anything, not even few mouthfuls? Lot of grass sickness around, that doesn't show up in bloods. Otherwise check teeth. How bad is the mud fever? Hope the antibiotic does him some good.

He sniffs and picks a very odd mouthfull of grass up then spit it out. Carrots are the only thing he will swallow.
Mud fever wasn't too bad but has dried and scabbed over now
I did wonder about grass sickness...
He had his head xrayed also which showed nothing and teeth checked

Just to add also he's been wormed on vets advice and is being syringed bute and have also syringed makuna honey incase of sore throat
Just trying to cover every thing possible really
