I would recommend 'Where The Rivers Change Direction ' by Mark Spragg , not for the faint hearted in places (different time , different place) but very good .

Another good one is 'Breakfast The Night Before @ by Margaret Quarton (i think !)about a female Irish horse dealer many , many moons ago and how things were for her .

Also any Mark Rashid book .

ETA Majorie Quarton wrote ' Breakfast The Night Before ' . Thank you Google !

The Horsey Life by Simon Barnes is hilarious. Well worth the read, although it won't last you long as I couldn't put it down! I also enjoyed Clare Balding's autobiography and John Francome is a good author too. Enjoy!

Read Soul of a Horse by Joe Camp.
Inspirational, enlightening and a nice story too (non fiction)

I read it recently and have gone on to read all his books bar one in the past few weeks! :)
