Hi, This is the first time I have posted. I am looking for a perfect place to retire my beautiful Gelderlander mare Doris. She is 22 and has just cracked her pastern bone and the vet has recommended once it has fused putting her into retirement. The yard I currently keep her at is too expensive and does not match the needs of a retired horse. I do not want to just put her in a field, she isnt keen on being out, especially in the cold!! I am looking for a small local yard or somewhere that may specialise in retired horses ( I want to be able to see and her look after myself several days a week). It needs to be local as I intend to get another horse to keep at my current yard in Stanley. Any help or advice would be greatfully received from Doris and I.
