It's just dawned on me that a horse & rider camp could be a really good experience to help get my horse used to new environments - currently he loses the plot at new places or if he sees another horse in the distance, despite being very confident and easy going at home.

I know that Active Rider run camps at Somerford, however it looks as though these are fully booked. Does anybody know of any alternatives? I'm Midlands based and don't have transport, but could hire a little box, though wouldn't feel confident to drive it to the other side of the country.

Horse is talented but green, aim is to event.

Looking forwards to suggestions!

Both our local xc courses/equestrian places run camps. Have a look at websites, ours would be too far but must be some closer. Also lots of riding clubs arrange them! Friend goes on them and loves them.

Take a look at Keysoe and Milton Keynes EC. They both run camps. I'm going to Keysoe for the second time this year.
