Horse riding day rides/holiday locations?

Hello everyone... looking to go on a horse riding day ride/holiday.

Have been to Atspringhill in Wales which was excellent and have also been to Studland stables (near Dorset).

We are looking to go on another horse riding day ride/holiday... in England or the UK... not abroad.

If anyone has any recommendations...much appreciated...thank you...Monkerhostin.
 
Thank you... to bother of you... however... they are too expensive... we usually go for a 'day ride'...and the day rides at the Cumbrian place are nearly twice as much as we pay normally...which would make things get rather expensive... thank you for the replies though.
 
I'd love to go on a horse riding holiday at Murthwaite Green in Cumbria, they seem to use the same bit of beach as the Cumbrian heavy horses but from what I remember, they aren't nearly as expensive
 
If you just want a day's decent 'trekking' in some nice scenery, about 5 yrs ago I did a 2hr ride at a place near Oswestry, and I know they do half day and day rides. They were very reasonable, nice horses, good trek leader, ideal for experienced riders, we went as a group of 5 and did some great canters and a few gallops - let me know if that sounds ok and I'll try and dig the info up from somewhere!
Also I'm sure that there's a place on Cannock Chase (Staffs area) that do day rides.... again let me know and I'll get the details.....
Years ago there were stables in Burley in the New Forest that did longer rides too... but that is really going back.... about 15 yrs!!

Avoid Raygill...they are not BHS approved...and i would defo ask to look at the CRB checks for the staff.

we went last year, very bad experience, and very expensive mistake...a holiday from hell
 
Have also used Freerein a couple of times for long weekends and they were great if you want to do your own thing.

Llanghorse riding centre in Wales may be cheaper if you just want a days riding. Used to use them a lot a few of years ago and they were also good. They are in the Brecon becons.

I have taken a group of completely un-horsey friends here on their beach rides, and they were really fantastic. Right from being really helpful when i was trying to book it, to when we got there they were great. Took the time to fit hats properly, talk to everyone individually to see riding experience and gave everyone a ridden assessment in the school before letting anyone leave. They put on plenty of leaders so that the 2 of us who could ride got to have a good old gallop along the beach and so that my scardy car friend got her own "babysitter". My city-slicker friends loved it so much we have been for the last three years when we go up for the weekend, even after the first year when we went out in torrential rain and fog. The beach is beautiful and quiet (it is the same beach that the heavy horses use) and even when the rain was bucketing it down it is pretty spectaclar.

They do weekend fell rides which i have always fancied, the scenery is beautiful- but it does rain quite alot (but thats never bothered me much lol) They are pretty pricey but from my experiences with them they were super friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for them- i would definitely recommend them!

Hummm....if only i could badger someone into going with me- I really fancy it now!:D
