Hi

I have just been on www.equestrian-escapes.com and they organise horse riding holidays that are tailor made to suit your needs.
I was wondering if anyone had been on one of their holidays as i wanted to know what the holidays are like and what sort of things to expect when i'm there.

Thank you

Well as the holidays are "tailor-made to your needs" you should expect to get whatever you've requested.

I'm always suspicious when somebody's first post is written like this. It just sounds like someone trying to get cheap advertising! But that's the cynic in me!

Which holiday are you going on?

I would love to take my own horse on holiday with me but sadly i don't have a horse.
I was looking at going on the beach riding holiday in Spain. I was wondering if anyone had been on the holiday so they could advise me as to whether they thought the 4-5 hour beach ride would be too much for me as i am not an experienced rider. I was wondering if id be better off just hacking for 2 hours as i don't want to be sore for a week afterwards.

Thank you for that but unfortunately i can't seem to open my messages can you please post a copy of it for me so that i can read it.

Emma17, I do hope you're not telling me Porkies as I received a 'Read Receipt' for that message I sent you, so somebody was able to open it!

If you want me to post a copy I'll need to have your address, so I can pop it in an envelope and send to you.

Anyway, I've been on two fantastic holidays abroad - let me tell you about them.

I must stress, I would never use a specialist travel company to book a holiday. Just book directly with the riding centre - It works out a lot cheaper!

First time I went to a lovely place in Tuscany, on the edge of Chiantishire.

It's run by an English woman and her Italian partner. I was on a F/B deal where we all ate communally around a big table (about 8-12 of us) each night. Italian food was wonderful and free wine was available. Plenty of riding through the vineyards and instruction for those who wanted. Most or all of her staff spoke some English. Actually, one of her Italian instructors used to teach me here in England!

Rendola Riding is near to the Prada Factory Outlet centre

and the beautiful town of Arezzo - where some of the big Italian SJ competitions are held.

My other holiday was in S-W France, where I stayed at Les Juliannes - run by an Englishman and his French wife. Beautiful countryside, horses and English speaking staff again.

They had a swimming pool and a large Equestrian centre with tack shop on site.

The centre was used for Horseball matches, which you can watch or even have lessons and play if you want to!

The food and wine was excellent here with communal dining again and all the people were very friendly!

I really can't recommend them highly enough.

Just Google Rendola Riding or Les Juliannes if you want to see more.
