I am constantly getting asked by people if I do riding lessons on my horses. If I were to charge someone and teach them to ride on my own horses what kind of insurance would I need?

Also what are the going rates for riding lessons?

You would need to be insured as a Riding School & hold a local authority licence. Speak to your local council about the licence (either health & safety department or environmental health). But you may also need planning permission to change the use of your premises - you would not normally be able to operate if you just have the horses at livery on someone elses yard.
Also speak to an insurer to ask for insurance quotes, etc. if you want to get an idea what it might cost you - try Shearwater - they're who I use for my horses & they quoted me for a livery yard a little while ago but it hasn't gone ahead yet.
