Im going tomorrow - have been before, some of it to me is sad.. Barry Rowe was at another sale today (Saturday) and told the auctioneer to call it a Country Fair, (For the record I HEARD him say that) but it is advertised in our local press as Joe Moyles Old Fashioned Horse sale, so I didn't quite understand that comment...........
Normally there are loads of ponies looking for homes.. kids dragging shetlands around on lead ropes, puppies and poultry for sale/old, 2nd hand tack up for grabs. Harnesses etc. If you are interested why don't you go and make up your own mind?
I normally go, spend half hour looking around... then leg it! lol x
Thanks for that I am wary of all horse sales in general in case the horses are in poor condition etc and then end up wanting to come back and buy them all!! That's why I have never been to any horse sales! But saw this one advertised and wondered whether to go or not
We went once, its certainly an experience! some of the youngsters were ok but think it could be an ideal place to move on unsound/unsafe horses as no one is going to vet them. Oh, i am a cynic by nature.
The weather was charming as ever in Cornwall, so I did not go... Knowing BR - he'll possibly postpone it... It is sad, seeing the horses but, I must say, that a couple of years ago, a friend of mine bought a lovely horse from the sale. Turned out to be a real cracker of an animal. So I spose it's similar to buying a car, some are duds and some are not!
am gutted now iv just seen a load of travellers with some horses and wondered what they were doing, now i read this on here and just my luck im in cornwall for a week with the family so gutted now would have loved to have gone today,
